Digital Reading Comprehension for Distance Learning
With many of us thrown into an unexpected period of distance learning, I wanted to highlight how my digital reading comprehension activities can help your students maintain and improve their reading skills. I’ve put together a free activity so you can trial Digital Reading Comprehension for Distance Learning.
Let me unpack this free resource for you.
The Purpose of this Free Digital Reading Comprehension Resource
The purpose of this resource is to provide a ready-to-go non-fiction text with engaging higher-order thinking questions.
These questions begin at the lower levels of Blooms Taxonomy (Remember, Understand, Apply) and move through to the higher levels (Analyse, Evaluate, Create). An added bonus of these activities is that they incorporate writing skills. Research shows that reading and writing skills improve when they are integrated.
I’ve provided two versions of this free Dolphins reading passage: Scaffold and Extended so that readers with a range of abilities can take part.
