Teach your students about the invasion of the Parihaka community on November 5, 1881 with our FREE Parihaka Teaching Resource. Your students will learn about the history of Parihaka, the invasion at Parihaka and its outcomes, the significance of the Raukura white feather, and who the Parihaka leaders were. It is vital that students understand this important, and often forgotten, part of New Zealand history.
 
Display the eight fact cards around the room, and hand out the puzzle pieces. Students use the facts to complete their interactive puzzles. Display the amazing completed puzzles and wow your school! This activity works for individuals, pairs, or teams.
