We’ve put together a set of reading response activities for a range of NZ School Journal texts around the broad theme of the Ocean and Ocean Life. Our NZ School Journal Oceans and Ocean Life resource has everything you need to explore this engaging topic further. Lesson plans and comprehensive follow-up activities are included.

Our Oceans and Ocean Life set includes:

A lesson plan is provided for each story or article covered in this resource
 
2. Six x Follow Up Activity Sheets
A one-page activity sheet is provided for each article covered in this resource.
Each activity sheet contains a range of reading comprehension strategies including:
  • Use prior knowledge
  • Find information
  • Use vocabulary
  • Make connections
  • Compare and contrast
  • Making inference
Apply links are included for students to explore the topic further through websites and video and audio links.
 
Creative activity options are also included. These activities challenge students to use higher-order thinking to synthesise their knowledge and create something new.
 
A FULL DIGITAL SET is also included for use within Google Classroom.
