A one-page activity sheet is provided for each article covered in this resource.
Each activity sheet contains a range of reading comprehension strategies including:

  • Use vocabulary
  • Make connections
  • Share opinions (evaluate)
  • Visualising
  • Making inference
3. Creative activity options are also included. These activities challenge students to use higher-order thinking to synthesise their knowledge and create something new.
 
4. A gamification element where students can track their progress in reading the texts by moving aliens onto different planets on a solar system map.
5. A full digital set of activities is included. Great for use within Google Classrooms or Microsoft Onedrive.
