Description

Teach the skills of identifying nonfiction text structure. This print and digital resource includes 30 task cards with a range of nonfiction passages. Students identify the text structure by finding the signal words in each passage. Question cards are also provided to prompt students. These task cards could be used as a pre-test or summative assessment. This resource is provided in a print version as well as Google Slides.

You will receive:
  • 30 text structure task cards featuring short passages
  • A digital set of text structure task cards – great for Google Slides, Seesaw, or Microsoft One Drive
  • A set of question cards. These cards ask students to identify the text structure and explain how they came to their answer. Students can write their answers in their own workbooks.
  • A full set of answers
  • A set of answer task cards with the signal words in bold text
 
Please note – Your students will need some knowledge of how to identify text structure to complete these task cards, or the activities could be used to test students’ prior knowledge of text structure.
