This resource aims to engage and motivate students to explore the stories and articles from Junior Journal 69.

We’ve also provided a sequence graphic organiser for the activity “Making a Bug Hideaway.”

Each activity sheet contains a range of reading comprehension strategies including:

These one-page activity sheets also include links to further activities and ideas. The links help students to explore the topic of the story or article further. QR codes and web links are provided so students can explore multiple perspectives. They can visit websites, listen to audio clips, and watch video clips.

Each activity sheet also features a design/create challenge. This encourages students to use higher-order thinking to synthesise their knowledge and create something new.
