Fine Motor Skills Activities for Letter of the Week

NZ$6.00

Description

This Fine Motor Skills Activities pack contains 26 activities that help students develop and practice the fine motor skills that are necessary for the classroom. There is an activity included for each letter of the alphabet, ideal to be included in your letter identification and alphabet sounds/ phonics program. The Fine Motor Skills activities are written in the order that they are taught through the popular Jolly Phonics program but can of course be taught and used in any order.

Each page contains:

  • A large activity for students to complete
  • Simple instructions
  • Both upper and lowercase letters to trace

These activities are designed to be modeled for the students by the teacher, then completed independently or with minimal assistance. These activities are fantastic to include in a reading rotation/tumble or as a part of your writing activities. This builds key competency skills such as confidence, listening, following simple instructions, and independent learning skills, while also allowing the practice of core fine motor skills that we often don’t have dedicated time to teach.

Fine motor skills included in the activities are:

  • Colouring
  • Cutting
  • Completing/copying a simple drawing
  • Gluing/pasting
  • Arranging
  • Ripping
  • Collaging
  • Tracing
  • Painting
  • Dotting
  • Fingerpainting

All activities are ready to be printed and completed with everyday classroom materials.

Optional additional materials that can enhance the enrichment of the activities are cotton wool, sequins or mini pompoms, wool, and cotton buds (Q-tips).
