Please note:
- This decodable text is designed to complement the Phonics International scope and sequence, targeting students who have acquired the phoneme-to-grapheme correspondences introduced in units 1-5 of the program. Students will also require some knowledge of how to break words into syllables and syllable-breaking patterns.
- This decodable text also aligns with the New Zealand Ready to Read Phonics Plus Scope and Sequence used in many schools. The focus phonemes-to-graphemes in this text align with the Rākau – Tree phase, drawing on knowledge from multiple units.
