The purpose of this Independent Literacy Activities Year 5-8 resource is to provide independent literacy activities for your Year 5-8 students to complete while you are working with other groups. We’ve also included a version with no year-level titles so these can be used with any level. 
  • Choices are provided to give your students agency, and a range of activities are provided so students can practice a variety of important literacy skills.
The activities are presented and levelled in such a way where students can complete these without needing to interrupt you to ask lots of questions.
  • These activities would work as part of any literacy rotation you run in your classroom. They could also be homework tasks or be used by early finishers.
